1940s Taiwan, a young man named Chen Qiushui leave his fiance Wang Biyun and travels to the mainland China. Soon after the civil war divides the mainland and Taiwan into two worlds. Working as a military doctor, Chen meets a young nurse Wang Jindi during the Korea War and later follows her to Tibet. Meanwhile in Taiwan, Wang decides to wait for his only love...
